Canberra: The British Medical Journal has published a job advertisement for the post of Junior Doctor in Australia. The image of the advertisement has been shared by writer and expert Adam K on his Twitter account.
In this, junior doctors have been lured with heavy salaries and 20 days leave every month. This Blagbybone Medical recruitment advert is targeting UK doctors with accident and emergency experience.
The advertisement states that the doctors here will have to work 10 shifts in a month and they can spend the remaining 20 days off travelling, swimming and sun surfing.
Not only this, the ad also promises an annual salary of AUD 240,000 (roughly Rs 1.3 crore), a house to live in and a sign-on bonus of 2.7 lakhs. The advertisement is placed on the careers website of the British Medical Journal (BMJ).
Sharing the image of the ad, expert Adam K wrote that it is very disappointing to see this ad of BMJ. It is difficult to say that these figures do not present a valid argument.
All this raises questions on the government. If you don’t address doctors’ fair pay and conditions, imagine where we’re headed. According to Independent News, the ad is a reference to Adam Kay’s best-selling book about his experiences as a junior doctor in the NHS.
An advertisement posted on the BMJ website in Brisbane promised Rs 1 lakh per shift for a year and a separate bonus after 12 months.
