Rajya Sabha member Sant Balveer Singh Seechewal met Indian Ambassador Harsh Kumar Jain in Manila of Philippines. During the meeting, Seechewal raised the issue of forcing the Sikh community to wear helmets while riding a bike in Sebu island.

Sikh families of Sibu island submitted a memorandum to Sant Sechewal. The memorandum stated that Sikhs are being cut off for not wearing helmets while riding a bike. Seechewal said that turban is the identity of Sikhism and Punjabi culture. He appealed to the Philippines government to raise the issue.
Discussion on passport related problems also
Passport related problems were also discussed in this meeting which lasted for more than half an hour. Seechewal said that migrant Punjabi puts a large part of their earnings in the development of schools, hospitals and sports grounds in India. The Indian ambassador and his staff listened seriously all the issues.
He assured to solve these problems. During the meeting, the ambassador also presented a set of books to Sant Sechewal.

The Indian Ambassador presented a set of books based on Sikh Sechewal and based on the Sikh-related relations. The Indian ambassador appreciated Sant Sechewal that he was playing a big role in making the country’s rivers and river pollution free.
