Rural roads got new life from ‘Our Bihar-Hamari Road’ app

A special app designed to keep the roads in rural areas of Bihar for a long time from the level of Rural Works Department has provided new life to the rural roads of the state. Through “Our Bihar- Our Road” mobile app, not only the maintenance of roads is being done by local villagers. Rather, complaints related to rural roads are also being executed rapidly. According to the Rural Works Department, 1072 complaints have been settled in a total of 1238 complaints lodged by the villagers in the last eight months with the help of this mobile app.

This mobile app, which was carried out by the Department of Rural Affairs, was inaugurated by Chief Minister Nitish Kumar in the last December. With this technology, along with improving traffic system in rural areas, the participation of people has also accelerated the development of infrastructure. Through this app, 1072 complaints have been executed in a total of 1238 complaints to the Rural Works Department. While the execution of a total of 166 complaints is being taken.
Through this app, the officials and engineers of the department are also facing the maintenance of all roads under the Rural Affairs Department. The work of continuous monitoring is going on from the level of the department to resolve the complaints being recorded online by the public through our Bihar-Hamari road app. This app is available on Google Play Store. The purpose of preparing this mobile app for maintenance of rural roads of the state is to ensure transparency in the maintenance of rural roads of the state as well as accountability. This app provides a list of a total of 65,000 km of rural roads under all 534 blocks of the state. Through “Our Bihar-Hamari Road” mobile app, any person can directly report the poor condition of rural roads like pits, damaged edges and other problems to the department. On this app, the poor condition and picture of any rural road in the state is being uploaded.

Changing pictures of inner roads inside villages

Roads are also being constructed under additional accessible contact scheme and Tola Contact Scheme to further improve connectivity within the villages. The scheme is strengthening the state’s infrastructure with new pace to the rural economy.
