In response to questions asked on the issue on the last day of his three -day lecture series, Bhagwat stressed the need to end caste -based discrimination in the society and said that the RSS is working for it. The RSS chief said, the Sangh supports the reservation provided by the Constitution already. This will always be. And until the beneficiaries of reservation do not feel that it is no longer needed, discrimination is over and they can stand on their feet, we will support it.

He said that when Balasaheb Deoras was the RSS chief, the Sangh had passed a resolution in favor of reservation. Bhagwat said, when the proposal was brought, there were absolutely different opponents on it. Our then Sarsanghchalak (RSS chief) Balasaheb ji heard the ideas throughout the session and said, imagine that you are born in the family of those who have suffered caste discrimination for a thousand years and then speak in the next session. He said that the proposal in support of reservation was unanimously passed in the next session.

Bhagwat said that the Sangh keeps trying to ensure that such weak sections of the society get the benefit of reservation. He said, but when we do this, people say that the RSS is doing this to increase the vote bank of BJP. It should not happen. Bhagwat said that the volunteers of the RSS are standing firmly against the atrocities on the underprivileged people. On the question of why the Sangh does not appear firmly against such atrocities, he said, “Wherever such incidents happen, volunteers should go there.” They should stand for truth and justice and the victims should ensure justice. It should also be ensured that such incidents do not cause quarrels in the society.

All this is expected from the volunteers. He said, if this does not happen for some reason, then it is our fault. Bring this to the attention of the local volunteers of the Sangh. This will be taken care of. In response to a question asked in the context of varna system in Manusmriti, Bhagwat said that in 1972, all religious leaders gathered in Udupi city of Karnataka said that there is no place for untouchability in Hindu scriptures. He said, if there is any such reference, we do not accept it. Here people (in India) are what they want. We do not follow the things written in books and scriptures. This is why we do not have a single scripture. And people have interpreted the text of (scriptures) as per their convenience.

The RSS chief said that the religious leaders of the country should think about creating a new memory in which all classes, sects, castes and sub -castes of Indian society should be included and taught practical conduct for them. Bhagwat said that RSS is trying to bring social harmony in the country. He said, everyone is part of the society. There is no high and low. Everyone has the same respect. All are their own. This feeling has to be awakened. It has to be done. The Sangh is doing this.
