A special Bangalore court on Friday convicted former MP Prajwal Revanna in the sexual exploitation and rape case. The former JD (S) leader was convicted in the first rape case registered against him at Holenarsipura Rural Police Station in Hassan district of Karnataka. On July 18, a special court of public representatives in Bengaluru completed the hearing of the rape case and reserved its verdict. The sentence will be announced on Saturday, August 2.

Revanna is the main accused in the four criminal cases recorded last year, when more than 2,000 pornographic video clips were revealed on social media allegedly showing sexual abuse of several women. The first complaint was lodged by a woman in April 2024, who worked as a domestic assistant in her family farmhouse. He accused Revanna of repeatedly raping 2021 and threatening to release videos of misconduct when he told anyone about the incident.
