Revanth Reddy urges Maoists: Leave Naxalism and become partners in nation building

Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy on Tuesday appealed to the active Maoist leaders and workers to surrender and join the mainstream and urged them to become partners in the development of the nation. The Chief Minister’s Office (CMO) said that Telangana has been suffering from Maoist and terrorist activities in the past. The indomitable courage displayed by the State Police is a result of the rapidly decreasing terrorist and Naxalite activities in the State in recent times. The Chief Minister said that many prominent Maoists have already surrendered. I appeal to all active Maoist leaders and workers to surrender before the police and join the mainstream.
The Chief Minister stressed that the Maoists should abandon the Naxalite ideology and become partners in nation building and development of the country. The Chief Minister praised the exemplary service of Telangana Police in rooting out the Naxalite menace in the State. Addressing the Police Memorial Day at the Memorial of Police Jawans in Hyderabad, Chief Minister Revanth Reddy lauded the exemplary service of Telangana Police in curbing terror and Naxal activities in the state. He recalled that 191 policemen, including six from Telangana, sacrificed their lives in the line of duty. Greyhounds Commando T. Sandeep, V. Sridhar, N. Pawan Kalyan, Assistant Commandant Banothu Jawaharlal and Constable B. Saidu and Pramod Kumar were given special mention.

To support the family of CCS constable Pramod Kumar, who was recently martyred in Nizamabad, the government will provide an ex-gratia amount of Rs 1 crore, final pay of the constable till retirement, a government job, a residential plot of 300 yards and an additional welfare fund of Rs 24 lakh. “Telangana Police has instilled trust and confidence in the society. The police never compromised and took risks for the safety of the people,” the Chief Minister said. The Chief Minister praised Telangana Police for leading the country in adopting advanced technology and innovative policies to improve law enforcement. Citing the India Justice Report 2025, he said that the Telangana Police Department has been ranked first at the national level. The Ministry of External Affairs also praised the police force for its transparent passport verification system.

“These achievements are a testament to the sustained efforts and dedication of the Telangana Police,” the Chief Minister said. Chief Minister Revanth Reddy highlighted emerging challenges such as cyber crime, digital fraud, content falsification, drug-related crimes and human trafficking, which have become major concerns for the police. It is noteworthy that news of cyber crimes now appears more frequently in the media than traditional crimes. He expressed pride that Telangana Police is leading the country in combating cyber crime through the use of advanced technology. To strengthen these efforts, a Cyber ​​Security Bureau has been set up headed by a DGP level officer to effectively deal with cyber threats.
