The total cost of the project is Rs 108.33 crore, of which the French development agency will provide a grant of Rs 80 crore and the remaining Rs 28.33 crore will be spent from the Smart City Fund.
Due to the increase in diesel prices, the current price of running a diesel auto is Rs 4 per km, while an e-auto will cost 0.68 paise per km. In addition, the cost of care will be lower. As a result, the revenue of e-auto drivers will also increase. This will reduce air pollution to zero and also reduce noise pollution. Under the project, the listing of e-auto makers has started from the Smart City side. 20-25 locations have been identified for setting up charging stations in the city.
