Rejuju approves eight Bills in Parliament after final appeal to participate in discussion with opposition

Parliament passed eight bills on Monday. Union Minister Kiren Rijiju criticized the opposition parties for repeated disruption in both houses of Parliament and announced that the government would proceed on the legislative agenda without their participation. Addressing a press conference, Parliamentary Affairs Minister Rijiju also indicated the end of the monsoon session and said that the Congress and other opposition parties are not interested in allowing Parliament to run.

In response to a question asked about the end of the current monsoon session of Parliament, Rijiju said, “They see … The opposition is not interested in letting the Parliament run. The opposition is only interested in making headlines. They do not trust democratic institutions.” The session began on 21 June and was interrupted for 14 days, except for a two -day discussion on Operation Sindoor and Pahalgam terror attacks. It will run till 21 August.

The Lok Sabha passed the four Bills – National Sports Administration Bill, National Sports Administration Bill, Anti -Doping (Amendment) Bill, Income Tax (Number 2) Bill and Taxation Law (Amendment) Bill – amid opposition from opposition on the special intensive revision (SIR) of the voter list in Bihar. The Rajya Sabha passed the rehabilitation Bill and Merchant Shipping Bill of representation of Scheduled Tribes in the assembly constituencies of Goa, and also returned the Manipur Appropriation Bill and the Manipur Mall and Services Tax (Amendment) Bill, which had already been passed by the Lok Sabha.

Rijiju said that we will not allow the time of the country and Parliament to be wasted on an issue every day. Therefore, we will pass an important bill. The minister said that the government is keen to discuss important bills, but due to repeated disruption by the opposition, the proceedings of both houses of Parliament have to be postponed. He said that opposition members are not interested in raising issues related to public interest and are eager to protest against only one issue every day.
