The investigation has now reached a crucial juncture in the white-collar terror module case that recently surfaced in Delhi. During NIA’s interrogation, accused Muzammil Ganai has reportedly told how five doctors together had prepared a fund of about Rs 26 lakh. Let us tell you that this amount was collected to carry out the conspiracy of those attacks, the target of which were many cities.
According to available information, Ganai admitted that he himself had deposited Rs 5 lakh, while Adeel Ahmed Rather and Mufazzar Rather had deposited Rs 8 lakh and Rs 6 lakh respectively. Shahid Shahid gave Rs 5 lakh, and Dr Umar Un-Nabi had raised around Rs 2 lakh. The entire fund was handed over to Omar, indicating that he was playing a key role in the execution process of this network.
It is noteworthy that Ganai also told the investigators that he had purchased 26 quintals of NPK fertilizer from Gurugram and Nuh for approximately Rs 3 lakh. According to NIA officials, this manure was further converted into explosive material. Along with this, ammonium nitrate, urea and other chemicals were also collected. Investigating agencies say that there is a clear division of responsibilities in this entire case and Umar Un-Nabi was handling the technical part.
Let us tell you that three doctors of this module, Ganai, Shahid and Adeel, have been arrested so far. Adeel’s brother Muffazzar, who is believed to be part of this network, is suspected to be in Afghanistan. The investigating officers are also searching for Dr Nisar Ul-Hassan, who worked with Omar and the other accused at Al-Falah Medical College.
According to available information, Umar was also driving the Hyundai i20 used in the blast outside the Red Fort on November 10 and he narrowly escaped from the law enforcement agencies immediately after the incident. An NIA official said that the information received during the interrogation has helped in connecting many scattered clues. He says the amount of chemicals and equipment seized clearly shows that the plan was for a large-scale serial blast and not a single attack.

The investigating agencies are currently probing upstream suppliers, sources of funding and possibilities of misuse of professional identities. Officials say that this network was working under deep academic cover and now the aim is to expose every part of it, for which continuous efforts are being made.
