Former India cricketer and head coach Ravi Shastri believes that India should get even more in the total revenue of ICC. The reason behind this is that India has the highest contribution to the ICC treasury. According to the 2024-27 cycle model, India currently earns 38.5 percent of the total revenue of ICC, which is much higher than countries like England and Australia. Despite this, Ravi Shastri wants further increase in it.

During a conversation with Wisden Cricket, Shastri said that India should get a bigger share of the total revenue of the ICC. He said that most of the money that comes comes from India. It all depends on the economy. If tomorrow another country’s economy becomes stronger than India, then the money will come from there. According to the Revenue Model of the ICC, more than 88 percent of revenue is distributed among the countries playing countries. Out of this, 48.2 percent of the important part of the game is divided between three powerful countries, India, England and Australia. India is the only country that gets the percentage of its share in double digits i.e. 38.5 percent.
