Rajnath Singh’s big statement on Pakistan: Pakistan has still not forgotten the pain of Operation Sindoor

Defense Minister Rajnath Singh on Wednesday cited the success of Operation Sindoor and said Pakistan has not forgotten that pain and said wars have taken a mixed and asymmetric form. Defense Minister Rajnath Singh and Chief of Defense Staff General Anil Chauhan made the remarks while attending the launch ceremony of the book ‘Civil Military Fusion as a Metric of National Power and Comprehensive Security’ by Lieutenant General Raj Shukla (Retd).

Rajnath Singh also highlighted the “bold and decisive” reforms undertaken in the Indian Army aimed at strengthening national security, including the creation of the post of Chief of Defense Staff. He said wars are no longer fought only on the borders, but have taken a hybrid and asymmetric form…The traditional defense approach is no longer applicable…Our government has also undertaken several bold and decisive reforms to build a future-ready and strong armed forces. These reforms ensure India’s national security as well as our strategic autonomy. One of these historic steps was the creation of the post of Chief of Defense Staff.
The senior BJP leader also mentioned the increase in domestic defense production and India rapidly becoming a defense manufacturing hub. He said that during Operation Sindoor, we saw extraordinary unity and integration between the three services… Operation Sindoor has shattered Pakistan, and even today it has not forgotten that pain. He said that the main lesson I have learned from reading this book is that civil-military integration should be seen not just as integration, but as a strategic enabler… This process is now moving forward rapidly in India… We have promoted defense manufacturing and public-private partnerships.

He said that while promoting startups in the defense sector, we have also increased industry partnerships with academia. Today, we are fast emerging as a manufacturing hub for the defense sector… Domestic defense production now totals over Rs 1.5 lakh crore. Of this, the private sector’s contribution is approximately Rs 33,000 crore. The government has started implementing many of the suggestions given in this book.
