CP Radhakrishnan, the Vice Presidential candidate of the National Democratic Alliance (NDA), met Union Defense Minister Rajnath Singh and Home Minister Amit Shah in the national capital on Saturday. Rajnath Singh wrote on X that today Thiru met CP Radhakrishnan ji. He greeted him on behalf of the NDA on becoming the Vice Presidential candidate. I am confident that Thiru Radhakrishnan ji will become an extraordinary Vice President and will remain a strong voice of the people of India.

At the same time, Amit Shah wrote that NDA candidate for the Vice Presidential election met CP Radhakrishnan ji. He is an experienced leader who has a comprehensive organizational and administrative experience. I am confident that they will contribute significantly to the national discourse of India with their broad experience. A day earlier, Shah said that nominating Maharashtra Governor CP Radhakrishnan as Vice Presidential candidate is a matter of pride for Tamil Nadu and it reflects Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s commitment to Tamil culture, language and honor of leadership.
Speaking at the conference of booth committee members in Tirunelveli, Shah regretted not being able to address the gathering in Tamil and thanked Prime Minister Modi and BJP President JP Nadda for supporting Radhakrishnan. He said that I have come to tell the people of the state that after taking the post of Vice President, Tamil Nadu’s son CP Radhakrishnan is going to become the Chairman of the Rajya Sabha. Earlier, the NDA also gave this honor by making APJ Abdul Kalam ji the President of India. Narendra Modi ji has always done the work of making Tamil Nadu, Tamil language and Tamil culture proud.

On Wednesday, CP Radhakrishnan filed his nomination papers for the Vice Presidential election in the presence of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Chandrapuram Ponnusamy Radhakrishnan, who is the Governor of Maharashtra since July 31, 2024, has also served as the Governor of Jharkhand, Telangana and Lieutenant Governor of Puducherry. Radhakrishnan, a two -time MP from Coimbatore, was born on 20 October 1957 in Tirupur, Tamil Nadu. The Tamil Nadu veteran BJP leader won a bachelor’s degree in the Business Administration and became a member of the state committee of the BJP’s predecessor Bharatiya Jana Sangh in 1974.
