Proposed feature film called Honeymoon in Shillong
The Raja Raghuvanshi murder case, which alerted the police and administration of two states, will soon be shown on the big screen. Raja’s brother unveiled the poster of the proposed feature film called ‘Honeymoon in Shillong’ during a press conference in Indore on Tuesday. Raja was allegedly murdered by his wife Sonam and his comrades during a honeymoon trip at Shillong’s Sohra. Raja’s brother Vipin said that the purpose of the film is to show the order of the incidents related to the death of the king and highlight the circumstances related to the case.

Director SP Nimbawat said, the truth must be revealed
Director SP Nimbawat said that the purpose of the film is to bring out the truth. He also said that he has no connection with Sonam’s family and the film will be completely focused on Raja’s life and this painful honeymoon murder mystery. Talking about the actors of the film, the director said that at the moment he has only got the green signal from the family and he would go to Mumbai and choose the actors for the film. However, he definitely told that there is a possibility of a Bollywood star in the film.
King Raghuvanshi went to Meghalaya with his wife Sonam in May. Soon after, he went missing and on June 2, his mutilated body was recovered from a deep moat near a waterfall in Sohra (Cherrapunji) in East Khasi Hills district. Police arrested eight people, including Sonam and her suspected lover Raj Kushwaha. Three accused have got bail.

Vipin Raghuvanshi said in a statement to reporters that the family suspects that more than five people were involved in this conspiracy. He claimed that Sonam tried to mislead the police about her activities after the murder and was in constant contact with Raj Kushwaha in the days after the king’s death. Vipin said, “If Raj was innocent, he would not talk to Sonam for hours.” She alleged that when Sonam was found, she was taking refuge in Raj’s hometown.
He also expressed disappointment for not being fully disclosed to Sonam’s background before marriage. He further said, “His mother used to hide some things from us. If his father and brother had known about Raj, he would have removed him from his factory.”
