Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav on Thursday inspected various development works released at Jaipur Junction, Gandhinagar and Khatipura railway stations and reviewed their progress. Vaishnav reached Khatipura railway station from Delhi.
He inspected the model of the coach maintenance unit being developed there. He also participated in a local program in Jagatpura. On the sidelines of the program, Vaishnav told reporters that he had discussed with senior officials regarding the development works of the railway.
The Railway Minister suggested changing the names of Gandhinagar and Khatipura railway stations in Jaipur to have more clarity about them. He suggested that the name of Gandhinagar station can be changed to Jaipur Gandhinagar station so that people can clearly understand that it is not of Gujarat but Gandhinagar station in Rajasthan.
He asked the officials to take suggestions in relation to names from public representatives and citizens. The Union Minister visited Gandhinagar railway station and inspected the development works released there. During this time senior railway officials were also with the minister. Vaishnav gave a courtesy call to Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma.
