Railway Minister inspects New Delhi station to assess passenger amenities

Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav visited New Delhi Railway Station on Tuesday to review crowd management and passenger facilities ahead of Chhath Puja in Purvanchal region. This is his second visit to the station within a week.

Vaishnav had visited the newly constructed permanent passenger area and other platforms of the station last Saturday to inspect the passenger movement and security arrangements.

Vaishnav visited the security control room on platform number one on Tuesday and spoke to passengers of Shiv Ganga Express and Amrit Bharat Express. He reviewed the security arrangements of all the platforms from the ‘mini war room’ installed on platform number 16.

He told reporters that so far one crore people have availed the services of special and regular trains during the festival season. The Railway Minister said that every day 4.5 lakh passengers are leaving for their respective destinations from various railway stations of Delhi.

Vaishnav said, “12 lakh railway employees are working day and night to ensure that passengers reach home safely and on time.” The Railway Minister had visited Anand Vihar station on Sunday to review passenger services.
