Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy met Congress General Secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra on Thursday and discussed the major details of the caste survey in the state. On the other hand, at an event, Rahul Gandhi said that Revanth Reddy and other Congress party leaders worked more than my expectations. He not only had the feeling of caste census with the spirit that should have been. I can say with full confidence that the skill they have done is a milestone for social justice in the country. It will decide how the national caste census will be, whether the BJP likes it or not.

The Congress leader said that it is a social tool and also a financial, economic tool. The BJP does not like that it is also a political tool. The real thing is that the idea of breaking a 50% wall on reservation, the two points that the Government of India is denying – reservation in education and government posts, and reservation in the third level of Panchayati Raj has the ability to completely destroy the politics of Hindutva. They know this, we know this. Therefore, when we pressurized, the BJP was forced to listen. They have no choice.
He said that I know that the BJP is not going to do caste census properly. They cannot do this because they cannot tell the Prime Minister of India to the correct status of OBCs, Dalits and tribals, even general castes. They cannot tell India this truth because if they tell and India knows the truth, then their entire idea will end.
During this, Revanth Reddy said that the BJP gave an affidavit in the Supreme Court in the year 2020 that we will not conduct caste census. Rajnath Singh stood in Parliament and said that we will not conduct caste census in the country. But when Rahul Gandhi met the people of the country during the ‘Bharat Joar Yatra’, heard their problem, he raised the demand that there should be caste census in the country. At the same time, Rahul Gandhi ji also said that caste census would be held after the formation of the Congress government in Telangana and later we also completed this work in the state.
He said that we have got the state of Telangana because of Sonia Gandhiji. From this Telangana, Rahul Gandhiji promised caste census, which I stood up to fulfill. I called people of all classes and explained to everyone that now caste survey is our need, we have to do this. With this we decided and the survey work was started on 4 February 2024. 4 February 2025, that is, in just one year, we finished this work and put the data in the assembly. We have decided to celebrate 4 February every year as ‘Social Justice Day’.

Reddy said that this work of caste census has been completed due to Sonia Gandhi, Mallikarjun Kharge and Rahul Gandhi. BJP leaders say that Narendra Modi is an OBC leader. But I say. They are not OBC from birth, but are ‘legally converted obc’. Because when Narendra Modi became the Chief Minister, he included his caste in the OBC.
