After seven years in the Hyderabad Central University Students Union (HCU) election, the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) winning victory has once again proved that this organization has been continuously deepening its penetration in the university’s university politics. From the Speaker to the Sports Secretary, the victory of ABVP over all six posts is not limited to electoral data only, but it is also a mirror of the psychology of the youth and their political inclination.
From Delhi University, Punjab University, Guwahati and Patna University to now Hyderabad University, the increasing popularity of ABVP is making it clear that the trust of the youth is constantly getting stronger on this organization. This is the same youth class ie ‘Generation Z’, which Congress leader Rahul Gandhi is repeatedly calling for standing against the government. But the picture on the ground appears reversed because the youth are expressing confidence in ABVP instead of Congress -backed student organization NSUI.

If seen, today’s students are not only looking for employment or degree, they want stability, opportunity and cultural confidence. ABVP is creating its politics on these three pillars. While there is a demand for educational reforms and opportunities on the one hand, there is a sense of pride in Indian culture and traditions on the one hand. This is the reason that a large number of students across the country have started considering it as their representative.
Let us remind you that Rahul Gandhi recently called upon the youth to stand against the policies of the government from many forums. He believed that the generation Z is disappointed with the current regime and wants change. But the continuous victory of ABVP rejects this claim. Actually, the youth are showing positive beliefs rather than opposition – they are expressing confidence in the policies of the government and are advancing ABVP accordingly.
In the political perspective, the ABVP’s victory chariot is seen in the political perspective, it can be said that the victory of ABVP in universities is not limited to student politics only, but it indicates deep roots of right -wing ideology in national politics in the coming times. Also, this result is a matter of serious concern for Rahul Gandhi and Congress. His frequent defeat shows that his message is not reaching the youth. The class which was presented by the Congress as “Baghi” is supporting the nationalist agenda in search of class stability and opportunities.
On the other hand, it also has to be understood that the expansion of ABVP is not limited to winning the election only. This organization constantly communicates with students, raises their problems and connects them with cultural-social activities. This activism makes it far more relevant and attractive than other student organizations. It is not just a political platform for the youth to express their dreams and aspirations.
However, today’s student politics is determining the direction of future national politics. ABVP’s frequent successes indicate that the coming India will be in the hands of a class of youth, which believes in values such as nationalism, cultural pride and struggle for opportunities. Rahul Gandhi’s attempt to turn the youth towards opposition politics seems to be a failure, because the reality is that youth are attracted to stability and clear vision. It can be said that this visit of ABVP is not only the victory of the organization, but it is the victory of the belief that the new youth of India wants to see in a stable, confident and opportunities full of opportunities.
