Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Rajasthan unit president Madan Rathore on Tuesday accused Congress leader Rahul Gandhi of making factless and irresponsible statements about the army. Rathore has made this comment after the Supreme Court expressed his displeasure over a statement related to Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi in the Lok Sabha. Rathore told reporters here, “Repeated rebuke by the Supreme Court shows that Rahul Gandhi has been making factless, irresponsible and anti-national statements especially in the context of the Indian Army.”

Referring to Gandhi’s previous comments after the 2016 surgical strike, Rathore said, “When the army gave a befitting reply to Pakistan, Rahul Gandhi and his team started asking that ‘how many dead’, ‘where dead’, ‘what are the evidence’?” Did he go and saw all this? He said that when our army in the Galwan was showing its power to the Chinese army, Rahul Gandhi was holding a press conference saying that our army was beating the Chinese army, it is surprising and shameful.

Rathore said that China had grabbed Indian land in 1962 while Jawaharlal Nehru was Prime Minister. He said, “In 1962, when the Prime Minister of the country was Nehru, China had grabbed land. Today when our army is standing firmly, Rahul Gandhi says that China took 2000 square kilometers of land.
