Rahul became another Indian to score more than one Test century in Lord’s after Vengsarkar

Opener KL Rahul on Saturday became the second Indian batsman to score more than one century at Lord’s veteran Dilip Vengsarkar on Saturday.

Rahul achieved this feat by taking a run in the covers off Jofra Archer’s ball soon after the lunch break on the third day of the third Test against England. However, Rahul was dismissed by off -spinner Shoaib Bashir’s ball soon after reaching the triple point. This was his 10th in the traditional format of the game and the ninth century on foreign soil.

The Karnataka player scored 100 runs in 177 balls with the help of 13 fours. This is his second century in the current five -match series after scoring a century in the first match of the series in Leeds.

Rahul played some great drives and flicks at the crease. Vengsarkar has scored three centuries at Lord’s in 1979, 1982 and 1986. 10 Indians including Rahul and Vengsarkar have managed to make it to ‘Honors Board’ at Lord’s.

Vengsarkar is the Indian batsman to score the most centuries at this prestigious site called Mecca of Cricket. Rahul scored the first century at this site in 2021 when he scored 129 runs in India’s 151 -run win. The series is currently equal to 1–1.
