Russian President Vladimir Putin has proposed a direct conversation with Ukraine on Sunday. Putin said that on May 15, I can talk with Ukraine in Istanbul.

The proposal came a few hours after Kiev and European leaders announced an unconditional 30 -day ceasefire from May 12. However, Putin has rejected the ultimatum of agreeing to ceasefire with Ukraine.

Leaders of Ukraine, Britain, France, Germany and Poland threatened the Russian President in Kiev on Saturday that if they do not sign the ceasefire, the rest of the country would give military support to Ukraine.

To this, Putin said- will resume the conversation with Ukraine from 2022 without any pre-pre-condition. Russian and Ukrainian negotiators had spoken earlier, but then there was no consensus to stop the fight.

Jailonski’s demand, unconditional ceasefire

Sharing a post on the X, Ukrainian President Volodimir Jailonsky wrote- From Monday, May 12, there should be a complete and unconditional cease for at least 30 days. We demand it from Russia together. Unconditional ceasefire means unconditional.

Jailonsky, while speaking, said that an attempt to determine any condition or conditions would be considered a sign of prolonging the fight and weakening diplomacy.

British PM said- Putin turns off peacefully and answering

Britain’s Prime Minister Kir Starmer said at a joint press conference held in Ukraine’s Kiev, “We are all challenging Putin here, with America. If he is serious about peace, he now has a chance to show this.”

The stormer said that if Putin turns his back on peace, we will answer. He also talked with President Trump and other colleagues to increase the ban on Russia and provide military assistance to Ukraine.

Putin announced a 3 -day unilateral ceasefire

On 29 April, Russian President Putin announced a 3 -day ceasefire with Ukraine. This ceasefire came into effect from 8 May. Earlier, Russia announced a day -long ceasefire on 20 April on the occasion of Easter.

The ceasefire was done on the occasion of Russia’s 80th Victory Day. Russia organizes Victory Day Parade on 8 May every year as a celebration of a win over Germany in the Russia Second World War.

The Russian President’s Office Kremlin had said that this ceasefire is being done on humanitarian grounds. It started from the night of 7-8 May and the ceasefire ended midnight on 10-11 May.
