The official website of the Punjab Police’s evening initiative ppsaanjh.in has been closed for the last 3 days, causing interruption in the functioning of the police and inconvenience to the people. The site was closed from yesterday morning and till the news is written on Friday, it is not being worked on.

Sanjh portal, which is used for police verification, applications, missing mobile phones and documents and even for passport -related verification. Now all these services have come to a complete standstill.

Manjit Singh, a resident of Civil Lines, said that he lost his purse on his way to his office, which had his driving license, PAN card, Aadhaar card and debit and credit cards. He tried to report the loss on the evening website, but failed.

He then went to the Sanjh center located near his house. The employees there said that they cannot help, as the website that recorded such information was closed. He said, I was asked to come again when the website was commissioned.

Police department’s work also stopped

Police officers are also facing problems. Due to the closure of the site, departments are unable to upload copies of FIR, reports of missing persons or details about unknown bodies – all these are regular but essential services.

The SHO of a police station in Ludhiana said on the condition of anonymity that they are unable to upload the FIR and other reports. When the website is turned on again, they will have a large backlog of pending works.

This crash has stalled the functioning of police stations and major branches across Punjab, which raise questions on the preparations of the department and its much -transmitted digital aspects.

Special Director General of Police Gurpreet Kaur Dio and ADGP modernization wanted to talk to senior officials but could not be contacted. So far no official statement has been issued by the Punjab Police due to crash or when the website will be restored.
