Punjab Police busted Narco-Hathiyar, Narco-Hawala module; Nine people arrested

The Punjab Police said on Friday that it arrested nine people, including two residents of Karnataka, by busting an international narco-host module and an interstate hawala network.

Director General of Police (DGP) Gaurav Yadav said that the police have recovered 1.15 kg of heroin, five state -of -the -art pistols and Rs 9.7 lakh cash from him. He said that a detailed investigation is on to locate the entire smuggling module.

Sharing the details of the first campaign, Amritsar Police Commissioner (CP) Gurpreet Singh Bhullar said that in an intelligence campaign, police parties arrested three people Jaspreet, Harpreet and Tejbir, who were involved in the narco-Hathiyar module and arrested three 9mm pistols, two-point 30 bore sugar pistols, including five uninterrupted pistols and karaatus.

He said that preliminary investigation has revealed that Jaspreet and Harpreet recently returned from Malaysia and were in touch with their masters in Malaysia and Pakistan. He said that he came to Amritsar area with his friend Tejbir and raised a consignment of weapons and drugs on the instructions of his masters.

He informed that a case has been registered in this regard at the Sadar police station in Amritsar. Bhullar said that in another campaign, the police arrested six accused in the narco-hawala network associated with Delhi, Karnataka and Dubai and recovered Rs 9.7 lakh cash and Rs 1.15 kg of heroin from their possession.

He said that he was part of an organized hawala network run by Abdul Rahman and Pradeep Pintu. He said that the arrested people were identified by Jaspreet Singh Chauhan alias Kalu (26), Harpreet Singh alias Happy (25), Tejbir Singh alias Tej (21), Danish alias Gaggu (19), Saloni (19), Saloni (19), Jobanpreet Singh alias Joban (28), Kulwinder Singh (28), Abdul Rahman (45) and Pradeep Pintu (44) Is. Rahman and Pintu are residents of Karnataka.
