Government started a campaign after Delhi elections
The government is engaged in strengthening itself for the war of assembly elections to be held in 2027 by winning the confidence of people by ending drug addiction. Because the party came to power in 2022 with the promise of ending intoxication. But even after three years, nothing special was done in this direction.
After the defeat in the Delhi elections, the government has taken the matter seriously. Also started this campaign with a whole strategy. The high power committee of five ministers has been set up to run the campaign properly.
7414 drug addicts arrested
The ongoing campaign in the state is running from 59 under “War Drugs”. Police teams have arrested 7414 drug smugglers including 1877 big fish by registering 4659 FIRs under the NDPS Act from March 1, 2025 and recovered 297 kg of heroin, 100 quintal bhukki, 153 kg opium, 95 kg of ganja, 21.77 lakh bullets/capsules and Rs 8.03 crore from their possession. Bulldozers have been run on 70 smugglers’ houses. At the same time, 31 hawala operators have been controlled.
