According to the petition, Sarabjit Kaur, a resident of Muktsar district of Punjab, entered Pakistan on November 4 on a 10-day single entry religious visa, which remained valid till November 13 and restricted her movement to religious places including Nankana Sahib and Sri Kartarpur Sahib.

The petitioner said that the said woman did not follow her scheduled pilgrimage, route and visa conditions after arriving in Pakistan. continued her stay abroad even after the expiry of her visa which is clearly illegal. It was also alleged that Sarabjit Kaur is facing fraud cases in the Indian cities of Bathinda and Kapurthala and therefore the issuance of her visa raises several legal security concerns regarding border clearance and transit into Pakistan. The petitioner has said that Sarabjit Kaur should be declared an illegal citizen and an order should be given to deport her immediately.
