Amritpal Singh, MP from Khadur Sahib, who was lodged in Dibrugarh Jail in Assam, was demonstrated today in Amritsar to protest against the introduction of the National Security Act (NSA) for the third time. Akali Dal Waris Punjab and concerned Sikh Jatbandis from Ranjit Avenue DC work

The protesters took out a rally from Ranjit Avenue to Amritsar DC office on foot. There he submitted a memorandum to ADC Joti Bala in which the NSA being repeated against Amritpal Singh was described as “undesirable” and “political torture”. The memorandum demanded that such laws be canceled which repeatedly harass people mentally and legally.

MP Sarabjit Khalsa targeted the government
Sarabjit Singh Khalsa, MP from Faridkot and Tarsem Singh, father of Amritpal Singh were also present on the occasion. Sarabjit Singh Khalsa said that a large number of Sikhs have come forward in support of Amritpal Singh and are demanding from the central and state government that the NSA imposed on Amritpal should be removed immediately.
Only Punjab’s right on water
The protesters also raised the issue of water dispute between Sarabjit Khalsa and Tarsem Singh and said that “Punjab’s water is only from Punjab” and it should not be forced to other states.
He also welcomed the efforts taken by the Shiromani Gurdwara Prabandhak Committee (SGPC) for the release of the detained lions and said that the Sikh community will now get organized and raise their rights.
