Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma said on Wednesday that Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit Assam on 13 and 14 September, where he will inaugurate and lay the foundation stone of Rs 18,000 crore projects. The Prime Minister will also attend the birth centenary celebrations of Bharat Ratna Dr. Bhupen Hazarika at the Veterinary College Field in Khanapada, Guwahati on 13 September. A memorial coin in his honor will also be issued on this occasion.

The Chief Minister of Assam said that at 5:15 pm, he will attend the birth centenary celebrations of Bharat Ratna Dr. Bhupen Hazarika. The program will be 1 hour and 15 minutes and the special thing of this program is that more than 1200 artists will sing 14 songs of Dr. Bhupen Hazarika for 18 minutes. In that program, we will inaugurate the biography of Dr. Bhupen Hazarika, which will be translated into all languages of India. We will deliver this biography to 20 lakh families of Assam. The Reserve Bank of India has prepared a coin with a picture of Dr. Bhupen Hazarika and the Prime Minister will launch it.
The Prime Minister will take a night’s rest at the State Guest House in Guwahati. On Sunday, Prime Minister Modi will lay the foundation stone of medical colleges. Subsequently, he will lay the foundation stone of a new bridge on the Brahmaputra River. The Chief Minister said that on September 14, the Prime Minister will reach Mangaldoi at 11 am and will lay the foundation stone of Darang Medical College, Nursing College and GNM School at a cost of Rs 567 crore. He will also lay the foundation stone of a new bridge connecting Nargi on the Brahmaputra river at a cost of Rs 1200 crore and the Guwahati Ring Road at a cost of Rs 4500 crore.

On September 14, he will visit Numaligarh Refinery at 2:30 pm and inaugurate the country’s first bamboo -based bio refinery at a cost of Rs 5000 crore. The Chief Minister of Assam said that he will also lay the foundation stone of a polypropylene unit costing Rs 7000 crore. After this, Prime Minister will leave for Kolkata from Jorhat Airport.
