The Punjab Vigilance Bureau has arrested Anil Vij, a reporter of a newspaper published in Ludhiana today, for accepting a bribe of Rs 1,00,000 during its ongoing campaign against corruption in the state.

Giving information in this regard, the spokesperson of the Vigilance Bureau said that the said accused journalist has been arrested on the complaint lodged by Surinder Arora, a resident of Rishi Balmik Nagar, Ludhiana.

He said that the complainant approached the Vigilance Bureau and told that the said journalist is demanding a bribe of Rs. The complainant further stated that the accused reporter demanded one lakh rupees each for SDO Galada and Junior Engineer Galada and one lakh rupees for himself and he was told that if he does not pay, the road will be demolished. will be given

After this, the Vigilance Bureau team laid a trap by recording the statement of the complainant and arrested the said reporter on the spot by accepting a bribe of Rs 1,00,000 from the complainant in the presence of two government witnesses. In this regard, a case has been registered against the reporter under the Prevention of Corruption Act and further investigation of the matter is ongoing.
