Prajwal Revanna sentenced to life imprisonment, Bengaluru Special Court imposed a fine of Rs 10 lakh

Former JDS MP Prajwal Revanna has been sentenced to life imprisonment and a fine of Rs 10 lakh in the rape case. A rape case was registered against him at Holenarsipura Rural Police Station. On July 18, a special court of public representatives in Bengaluru completed the hearing of the rape case and reserved its verdict. After which the sentence was announced today.

Prajwal is the grandson of former Prime Minister and JD (S) patron HD Deve Gowda. There are four cases of rape and sexual harassment against Revanna, but the rape case on August 1 belongs to a 48 -year -old woman, who was working as a domestic assistant at her family’s Gannikaada Farmhouse in Hassan, Karnataka. She was allegedly raped twice in 2021 and the accused also made a video of the act.

Earlier, former MP Prajwal Revanna on Saturday reacted to a special Bangalore court convicted in a rape case, claiming that he did nothing wrong. The former MP said that his only mistake was to move faster in politics as he demanded less punishment from the court. Revanna allegedly cried before the court, as he alleged that the women who had complained against him had deliberately brought them forward and they did not express their desire to do so.
