During the Indo-Pak military conflict, Pakistan repeatedly threatened to attack with a nuclear bomb, but now that India has stopped its water, it has started ripping water instead of ruting atoms. From Pakistan Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif to Army Chief Maulana Munir, they are talking about water day and night. Let us remind you that India had announced the postponement of the Indus Water Treaty after the terrorist attack on 22 April in Pahalgam. Initially, Pakistan felt that this is just a announcement but when the situation of Trahimam for water started coming there, it understood how big a setback it had. India has made it clear from various forums that the Indus Water Treaty will be postponed, seeing that there is no solution to the leaders of Pakistan and the army, then they have now come down on threatening.
Let us tell you that Pakistani Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif rejected “water used as weapons” and said that Pakistan will not let India endanger the lives of millions by postponing the Indus Water Treaty for narrow political gains. Shahbaz Sharif raised the issue of India-Pakistan Bilateral Indus Water Treaty (IWT) while addressing a three-day international conference on the conservation of glaciers in Dusamba, the capital of Tajikistan. Shahbaz Sharif said that India’s unilateral and illegal decision to postpone the Indus Water Treaty related to the water sharing of the Indus basin is very regrettable. Shahbaz Sharif said, “For narrow political gains, the lives of millions should not be endangered and Pakistan will not let this happen. We will never let Lakshman Rekha cross.”

Shahbaz Sharif, in his inflammatory statement, compared the Gaza crisis with the Indo-Pak water dispute and accused India of “making weapons”. Shahbaz Sharif compared the humanitarian crisis in Gaza with water dispute with India and accused India of “using water as a weapon”. Sharif said that today the world is testifying to wounds used to use traditional weapons in Gaza, who have left deep wounds. But not only that, now we are seeing another worrying decline that is the use of water as a weapon. Shahbaz Sharif claimed that India is using water as a means of pressure. He warned that Islamabad would not allow India to cross the “Red Line”, which can threaten the lives of millions of people.
Let us also tell you that a day earlier, Pakistan’s Army Chief Field Marshal Asim Munir said that Islamabad will never compromise on the water issue as it is related to the fundamental rights of 24 crore people of the country. According to the army, General Munir made this comment in a conversation with Vice Chancellors, Principal and senior teachers and academics of various universities. He said, “Pakistan will never accept Indian suzerainty.” Munir said, “We will not let any compromise on this basic rights of 24 crore Pakistanis.”
As far as India’s attitude is concerned, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said during his visit to Gujarat this week that the Indus Water Treaty was done very poorly with Pakistan and under this, India was not allowed to remove the silt from dams in Kashmir. Modi said, “The Indus Water Treaty was negotiated very poorly, it was not even allowed to remove silt from dams in Kashmir.” He targeted Pakistan, saying, “We have postponed the Indus Water Treaty, have started increasing the capacity of dams on their side and they (Pakistan) are feeling troublesome.”
Let us tell you that India has made it clear from various forums that water and blood cannot flow together. India says that the suspension of the Indus Water Treaty is a sign of the end of the long -standing tolerance towards Pakistan. Let us remind you that the two countries signed the Indus Water Treaty in 1960 to resolve the water dispute and share the water of six main rivers of the Indus Basin.
