After buying the Goindwal thermal plant, the Punjab government has now started preparing its operator. The government is trying to generate electricity in this plant till the summer and paddy season i.e. June. A committee has been formed to maintain the plant. The 540 MW thermal plant was running at half capacity earlier. Now a plan is being prepared to run it with more capacity. So that people do not face any kind of problem for electricity. Renowned experts of thermal plants have been included in the committee formed by the government regarding thermal plants.

A committee has been constituted under the leadership of MR Bansal, Chief Engineer of Lehra Mohabbat Thermal Plant. In this committee, Lehra Thermal Deputy Chief Engineer Inderjit Singh Sandhu, Deputy Chief Engineer Fuel KK Bansal, Ropar Thermal Plant Superintendent Engineer Ranjit Singh, Chief Auditor Rajan Gupta, Lehra Thermal Plant Engineer Baljit Singh and Ropar Thermal Engineer Gurinder. Singh has been included.

The thermal plant has not been repaired for a long time. In such a situation, PowerCom has started work to find out all its flaws before starting it. Its full report will be prepared soon. Along with this, PowerCom has registered a company named Shri Guru Ramdas Thermal Plant Limited for the plant. The government will take over the plant by this week or next week. Thereafter, renovations will be done every year.

PowerCom has written to the central government for utilization of Pachwara coal mine. Along with this, if the sources are to be believed, the Punjab government is preparing to hold a function after the completion of all the formalities of this thermal plant. During the last half-year, Powercom has made a profit of Rs 564 crore by using 33 lakh metric tonnes of coal and transporting it to the state's power thermal plants.

GVK Group, which runs the thermal plant, had acquired 1600 acres of land for this. Power generation from the thermal plant started in 2016. 400 acres of land is still vacant. The government is making a strategy for its use. So that people can benefit.
