There is a possibility of heavy rains in some parts of the state on the occasion of Dussehra in Jharkhand. An official gave this information on Sunday. India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued ‘Yellow’ alert for Giridih, Bokaro, Dhanbad, Deoghar, Jamtara, Dumka, Pakur, Sahibganj and Godda. These districts are expected to rain 7-11 mm from October 2 to October 3.
The official said that light to moderate rain has also been estimated in the state till October 3. He said that till 8.30 am on Sunday morning, Dumariya in East Singhbhum district received the maximum 38.2 mm of rain in 24 hours.
Godda was the hottest place in Jharkhand, where the temperature was recorded at 34.3 degrees Celsius, while Latehar recorded the lowest temperature of 20.9 degrees Celsius. According to IMD, the state received 1,199.1 mm of rainfall from June 1, while normal rainfall is 1,013.3 mm, which is 18 percent more.
