Possibility of heavy rains in Delhi-NCR in next 2 hours, Meteorological Department released red alert

The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) issued meteorological warnings for Delhi, National Capital Region (NCR) cities like Noida, Ghaziabad and Haryana, Uttar Pradesh and other parts of Rajasthan at around 2 pm on Tuesday, which warned of thunderstorms, heavy rains and strong winds within the next two hours. IMD warned of hailstorm, heavy rains with thunder, lightning and strong winds at a speed of 50-70 km/h in parts of Delhi, Noida, Faridabad etc.

Red warning was issued in view of possible rains and lightning from 2:15 to 4:15 pm on Tuesday from 2:15 to 4:15 pm in the north-west, north-east, south-west and parts of NCR. The minimum temperature in Delhi was recorded at 29 degrees Celsius on Tuesday, the Meteorological Department has estimated light to moderate rainfall. The maximum temperature is expected to reach 34 ° C. IMD had issued a ‘Yellow Alert’ for Delhi till Thursday, which was estimated to have strong to moderate rains, electricity and strong winds up to 50-60 kilometers per hour.

According to the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB), the air quality of the city remained in a satisfactory category on Tuesday, the air quality index (AQI) was 96 at 9 am. According to CPCB, between zero to 50 AQI is considered ‘good’, between 51 and 100 ‘satisfactory’, between 101 and 200 ‘medium’, between 201 to 300, ‘bad’, 301 to 400 is considered ‘very bad’ and 401 to 500 is considered ‘severe’.
