Political arrogance on GST relief, Mamta said- not credit for the center, we suffered losses

After the implementation of the revised Goods and Services Tax (GST) rates from today, West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee criticized the NDA government and said that all relief would come from the treasury of the state governments, and the Center did not spend even a single penny. Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on Monday addressed the inauguration ceremony of 25 Palli Club Durga Puja Pandal. Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee said that no credit can be given to the central government. I first wrote a letter demanding to free insurance from GST. There was GST on many life -saving medicines and small objects. The central government has not spent even a single penny on this relief; All this has come from the treasures of the state governments. They take credit, but we have paid its price.

Mamta Banerjee expressed happiness that people would benefit, but alleged that this money has been deducted from the GST part of the state. He said that will they return our money? Everything has come to a standstill for 100 days work, for housing scheme, for roads, for water dreams, for Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan. And now, again, there is a loss of Rs 20,000 crore. How will I run the state under such circumstances? Nevertheless, I am glad that people will benefit. But no compensation has been given; This money has been deducted from our GST part. The so -called ‘double engine government’ will quietly take it back from secret routes.

Earlier, Trinamool Congress leader Kunal Ghosh on Sunday criticized the next GST reforms and credited the Center to force the GST rates to make changes to the GST rates, Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee and the All India Trinamool Congress (AITC), which they had earlier called “anti -people”. Addressing the journalists, Ghosh said, “GST rates were really anti -people … because people use the product, it seems more GST; there is more GST on health and life insurance. And when the richest people use the product, GST seems less,” he said.

He insisted that Mamta Banerjee raised his voice against the GST structure. Ghosh asked, “Mamata Banerjee raised his voice and then the whole country stood against it. The Center was forced to change the GST rates. Now they are trying to take credit for it, but why did you start such rates?” Then he said, “Because your rates were anti -people.” He added, “The credit goes to Mamta Banerjee and AITC that they exposed the flaws and forced them to make these changes.”

The improvement in the Goods and Services Tax structure, which was approved in the 56th meeting of the GST Council earlier this month, is going to be implemented from today. The existing four-rate system will be replaced by a streamlined two-slab system of 5% and 18%. A separate slab of 40 percent is kept for luxury and harmful items.
