Police screws on illegal Bangladeshis in Gurugram, 10 in custody; Start of exile

The Gurugram police on Saturday detained 10 illegal Bangladeshi migrants, from whom Bangladeshi documents have been recovered, and the process of deporting them has started. On this, AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi reacted strongly saying that the police administration is targeting Bengali -speaking Muslim citizens and it is wrong to declare them illegal. He told that these are the poorest people who live in slums and cannot oppose the police atrocities.

The Gurugram police on Saturday detained ten Bangladeshi citizens living illegally in the city. His Bangladeshi nationality was confirmed by the identity documents recovered from him. Gurugram Police Public Relations Officer Sandeep Kumar said, “Ten illegal Bangladeshi migrants have been detained. Bangladeshi documents have been recovered from them. The process of deporting them has started.”

Meanwhile, All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) chief Asaduddin Owaisi on Saturday condemned the custody of Bengali-speaking Muslim citizens across the country and declared them illegal. At the same time, the police administration accused them of “targeting” them as they could not oppose the police atrocities. He said that the people who are being described as illegal migrants are “poorest” people who live mostly in slums and work for domestic servants and garbage. Owaisi argued that he was being targeted again and again because he cannot oppose “police atrocities”.

He said that there have been reports of Indian citizens being pushed into Bangladesh at gunpoint. In various parts of India, the police is illegally detaining Bengali -speaking Muslim citizens and accusing them of being Bangladeshi. The AIMIM chief wrote on X, “The police in various parts of India are illegally detaining Bengali -speaking Muslim citizens and are accusing them of being Bangladeshi. There have been reports of harassing the Indian citizens of being pushed into Bangladesh at gunpoint. It is the worst of the poor of them: the slums, cleaning workers, domestic workers, garbage pickers, etc. are repeatedly targeted as they are not in a position to challenge police atrocities. “
