15 thousand case burden on MP and Allahabad High Court judge
- There are 21,285 judges across the country, but still 33% posts in the High Court and 21% in lower adults are vacant.
- In late 2024, the count of pending cases reached 5 crores. There are more than 25% of cases in lower courts of 17 big states, which are pending for 3 years.
- Lower courts have 38% judges in the lower courts and 14% judges in high courts in the case of women participation in Judicry.
- Out of 28 states of the country, the adults have filled at least 80% of their SC/ST quota.
- SC/ST quota is not full in any state except Karnataka.
- According to the population estimates of March 2025, there are 15 judges at a population of every 10 lakhs of the country, while if the vacant posts are posted, then there will be 19 judges.
- The Law Commission recommended in 1987 that there should be 50 judges every 10 lakh population.
- In the lower court and High Court of only 4 states, the case clearance rate i.e. the case settlement rate was more than 100%.
- By the end of 2024, except Sikkim, Tripura and Meghalaya, most of the High Courts had more than 1,000 cases of cases on an average. Whereas every judge of Madhya Pradesh and Allahabad High Court was over 15 thousand cases.
- At the district level, on an average, more than 500 cases were pending on every judge, with about 1750 cases per judge in Karnataka, 3800 in Kerala and 4300 in UP.

90% women constables in policing, 1522 people responsible for a policeman in Bihar
- There are about 2 million policemen in India. Among them, the number of women police is 2.42 lakhs.
- Less than a thousand women are in positions like senior positions i.e. DG and SP. 80% of women are constables.
- Out of 2.42 lakh women policemen in the country, there are only 960 IPS. While the total number of IPS officers across the country is 5047.
- Between January 2017 and January 2023, 64 thousand new posts of police officers were sanctioned across the country, but the recruitments were held on only 44 thousand posts.
- During this period, 28% to 32% posts of officers remained vacant. That is, the post of one out of every four officer was vacant.
- One police in the country is loaded with serving 831 people. One police in Bihar is responsible for 1522 people, 1298 people in Odisha and 1277 people in West Bengal.
- The situation in Punjab is the best among 18 big states, where a police have 504 people.
- SC community participation in policing is 17% and ST community has 12% participation.
