Chennai police on Thursday detained 39 RSS workers at Ayyappanathgal Government Higher Secondary School near Porur. According to news agency ANI, the workers were allegedly detained to organize ‘Guru Pooja’ and special branch training sessions without prior permission.
BJP leader reacted
BJP leader Tamilisai Sundararajan has strongly condemned this arrest. Talking to ANI, he appealed to the police to release the workers immediately.
Attacking the DMK government of Tamil Nadu, he said that the police took action on the RSS workers at a time when the mafia are roaming on the streets openly and there are murders in Tamil Nadu. He accused the DMK government of promoting anti -social and separatist elements in Tamil Nadu.
Sundararajan said that the police should strictly control these elements, but when the RSS march, the police immediately attack and arrest it.

100 years of RSS complete
The arrest of RSS workers is made amid the 100th year centenary celebrations of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS).
To mark the occasion, Prime Minister Narendra Modi released a memorial coin of Rs 100 to commemorate the centenary celebrations on Wednesday, October 1. Prime Minister Modi described the release of this coin as ‘very proud and moment of historical importance’. In this coin, RSS volunteers are shown bowing in front of ‘Bharat Mata’ wearing the uniform of the Sangh.
