PM’s call on Constitution Day: Every citizen should fulfill his duties, only then ‘developed India’ will be created.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s letter to the citizens on the occasion of Constitution Day has come out with a different message. According to available information, the Prime Minister appealed to the people to continue performing their constitutional duties, because this will play the biggest role in building a developed India. Let us tell you that in the year 2015, the Central Government had decided to celebrate 26th November as Constitution Day and since then this day has become an important occasion for the country.
The Prime Minister said in his letter that the Constitution of India is a sacred document which has been determining the direction of the country for decades and for which people have deep respect. He also recalled how he had bowed on the steps outside Parliament House for the first time in 2014 and had placed the copy of the Constitution on his forehead in 2019. According to him, it is the Constitution that has given an opportunity to a person coming from an ordinary family to serve the country for so many years.
It is noteworthy that this year’s Constitution Day is special in many ways. This is the year of 150th birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel and Lord Birsa Munda. The Prime Minister wrote that Patel’s visionary thinking made the integration of the country possible and his courage paved the way for the removal of Articles 370 and 35A in Jammu and Kashmir. Along with this, the struggle of Birsa Munda remains an inspiration for respect, rights and justice of the tribal communities.
This year is also being remembered as 150 years of Vande Mataram and 350th martyrdom anniversary of Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji, whose courage and compassion made the nation strong. The Prime Minister said that all these historical milestones remind us to give priority to our duties, as clearly stated in Article 51A of the Constitution.
He also said that 2049 will be 100 years since the adoption of the Constitution and the decisions taken today will decide the future of the coming generations. Therefore, citizens should always perform their duties keeping the national interest in mind.

The Prime Minister also stressed the importance of voting and suggested that new voters of 18 years should be honored in schools and colleges on the occasion of Constitution Day, so that the sense of responsibility towards democracy can be strengthened among the youth.
According to him, when the youth of the country understands their responsibilities, only then building a strong and conscious nation is possible and moving forward with this spirit has become the need of the hour.
