Vice President Election: Prime Minister Narendra Modi met the newly elected Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar on Saturday evening and congratulated him on the victory. BJP President JP Nadda also met Dhankhar at Union Minister Prahlad Joshi’s residence here. These meetings took place soon after Dhankhar was declared the winner in the Vice Presidential election. Dhankhar got 528 votes while the opposition candidate Margaret Alva got 182 votes.
In addition, the President Draupadi Murmu has also congratulated Jagdeep Dhankhar on being elected as the Vice President. Jagdeep Dhankhar has won this election with 528 votes. A total of 725 votes were cast in the Vice Presidential election. Out of these, 710 votes were found valid and 15 votes were found invalid. Now Jagdeep Dhankhar will be the 14th Vice President of the country and he will take oath on August 11. The tenure of the current Vice President Venkaiah Naidu is ending on August 10.
