PM Modi will give a big gift to Delhi, two highway projects worth Rs 11,000 crore will be inaugurated

The Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) said on Saturday that Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate two major national highway projects with a joint cost of about Rs 11,000 crore in Rohini, Delhi on August 17, 2025 at around 12:30 pm. Prime Minister Modi will also address the gathering present on the occasion. These projects, Delhi section of Dwarka Expressway and Urban Extension Road-II (UER-II), have been developed under the government’s comprehensive plan to free the capital from congestion, aimed at widespread improvement in connectivity, cutting time cuts and reduced traffic in Delhi and its surrounding areas.

These initiatives reflect Prime Minister Modi’s approach to the creation of world -class infrastructure which makes life easier and ensures uninterrupted dynamics. According to the statement, the 10.1 km long Delhi section of Dwarka Expressway has been developed at a cost of about Rs 5,360 crore. This section will also provide multi-model connectivity to Yashobhumi, DMRC Blue Line and Orange Line, upcoming Bijwasan railway station and Dwarka cluster bus depot.

The PMO’s statement stated that this section includes: Package I Shiv Murthy Crossroads to 5.9 km from the intersection to the Road Under Bridge (RUB) located in Dwarka Sector-21, while the package II includes 4.2 km from Dwarka Sector-21 RUB to Delhi-Haryana border, which provides direct connectivity to Urban Extension Road-II. The 19 km long Haryana section of the Dwarka Expressway was inaugurated earlier by the Prime Minister in March 2024.

The Prime Minister will also inaugurate the Dichaon Kalan section from Alipur in Urban Extension Marg-II (UER-II), built at a cost of about Rs 5,580 crore, along with new contact routes to Bahadurgarh and Sonipat. This will facilitate traffic at Delhi’s internal and exterior ring road and busy places like Mukarba Chowk, Dhaula Kuan and NH-09. The new routes will provide direct access to Bahadurgarh and Sonipat, increase industrial connectivity, reduce city traffic and accelerate the movement of goods in NCR.
