PM Modi will be involved in Durga Puja festival in CR Park, police issued traffic advisory

The Delhi Traffic Police issued an advisory for the drivers on Tuesday in view of the huge crowd in Durga Puja pandals at Chittaranjan Park before Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s evening visit. Consultation states that traffic restrictions and diversions will be applicable from 3 pm to midnight on several parts including Outer Ring Road, Lal Bahadur Shastri Marg, JB Tito Marg, Indra Mohan Bhardwaj Marg and CR Park Main Road from 3 pm to midnight between Panchsheel and Greater Kailash. The movement of vehicles on interior roads of Gurudwara Road, Bipin Chandra Pal Marg and CR Park and Greater Kailash II will not be allowed.

Way to escape

Affected Roads: Outer Ring Road (Panchsheel-Greater Kailash), Lal Bahadur Shastri Marg, JB Tito Marg, Indra Mohan Bhardwaj Marg, C.R. Park Main Road
Closed routes: Gurudwara Road, Bipin Chandra Pal Marg and C.R. Park/GK-II internal roads
Alternative routes and diversion
Outer Ring Road (under Panchsheel, IIT and Nehru Place Flyover) – LGV/HVV
MG Road, Aurobindo Marg, Mathura Road, Lala Lajpat Rai Road, Mehrauli-Badarpur (MB) Road
Diversion will be applicable on the Outer Ring Road below Panchsheel, IIT and Nehru Place flyover. These diversion will apply to both light and heavy cargo vehicles, even if they have valid no-entry permits.

Passengers have been advised to avoid the affected areas during the ban and use public transport to reduce congestion. Alternative routes suggested include MG Road, Aurobindo Marg, Mathura Road, Lala Lajpat Rai Road and Mehrauli Badarpur Road. Vehicle drivers are urged to be patient, follow traffic rules and cooperate with traffic personnel. They are requested to follow the instructions of the police stationed at major intersections for smooth traffic.
