Prime Minister Narendra Modi left for two countries in the United Kingdom and Maldives on Wednesday. The Prime Minister will be on a visit to the United Kingdom from 23 to 24 July. Subsequently, they will be on a state visit to Maldives from 25 to 26 July. Prime Minister Modi’s visit to Britain focuses on strengthening the India-Britain bilateral relations, with a glimpse of a glimpse of the Indo-Britain Free Trade Agreement (FTA) after a three-year conversation. This FTA will remove tariffs on 99% of Indian exports to Britain and 90% will reduce tariffs on British products, which aims to double bilateral trade by 2030 to existing $ 60 billion. This will also make India easier to export whiskey and cars.

Prime Minister Modi will hold extensive discussions with British Prime Minister Kir Starmer on topics like trade, defense, climate, innovation and education and will also meet Raja Charles III. The two countries will discuss defense and security cooperation, including military exchanges and artificial intelligence (AI) and semiconductor. PM Modi will hold extensive talks with President Mohammad Mujju during his visit to Maldives on 25-26 July and will inaugurate several development projects aided by India in the island nation. The Prime Minister will be the chief guest at the Maldives’ Independence Day celebrations on 26 July.

“This state visit of the Prime Minister is also the first state visit of a government, which has been hosting the President Mujju since he took over in November 2023,” an Egyptian said. He said, Maldives is a very important partner in India’s neighbor’s first policy, and is part of the ‘Ocean Vision’ of India (mutual and overall advancement for security and development in all areas). Misri also referred to the India-Maldives joint approach for the Final Economic and Marine Safety Partnership last year. He said, this joint approach, in a way, has become a guiding structure of our relationships.
