Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Mercedes-Maybach S650 is now part of the convoy adorned with armored vehicles. The new Prime Minister Modi recently The Maybach 650 was first spotted at the Hyderabad House when he Russian President Vladimir Putin arrived in the country to meet. The vehicle recently reappeared in the Prime Minister’s convoy.
The Mercedes-Maybach S650 Guard is the latest facelifted model with VR10 level protection, the highest protection offered in a production car. According to reports, Mercedes-Maybach launched the S600 Guard in India last year for Rs 10.5 crore and the S650 could be priced at over Rs 12 crore.
The Special Protection Group (SPG) responsible for the security of the Prime Minister of India takes care of the security requirements and determines whether the person they are protecting needs a new vehicle or not.
The Mercedes-Maybach S650 Guard is powered by a 6.0-liter twin-turbo V12 engine that produces 516bhp and approximately 900Nm of peak torque. Its maximum speed is limited to 160 kmph.
The S650 guard body and windows can withstand hard steel core bullets. It has got Explosion Proof Vehicle (ERV) rating. E-car riders will be provided 15 kg TNT at a distance of 2 meters. It is also protected from explosion. The interior of the window is coated with polycarbonate. The underside of the car is heavily armored to protect it from any explosions. There is also a separate air supply in the cabin in the event of a gas attack.

The fuel tank of the Mercedes-Maybach S650 Guard is coated with a special material that automatically seals the holes caused by the hit. It is made from the same material that Boeing uses for its AH-64 Apache Tank Attack Helicopters. The car runs on special run-flat tires which spot the tires in case of damage.
The car has a luxurious interior with seat massager. The car has the facility to increase the legroom. The back seats have been changed for this.
As the Chief Minister of Gujarat, PM Modi traveled in a bullet proof Mahindra Scorpio. Since taking over as Prime Minister in 2014, he has used the high-security edition of the BMW 7 Series.
