Ukraine President Volodimir Jailonsky said on Friday that Ukrainian officials want to meet US President Donald Trump and European leaders next week to discuss recent developments to end the three -year war with Russia. The purpose of these meetings is to pursue peace efforts. Jailonsky has expressed deep disappointment that Russia is not showing any interest in the conversation and attacks on common citizens are going on.

Trump has also expressed displeasure that Russian President Vladimir Putin has deferred the US proposal for direct talks with Jailonsky. Trump had said that if there is no talks within two weeks, they would decide the further step. Last month, Trump said that Putin “talks well, but then bombs everyone.” However, he also criticized the attacks by Ukraine.

Ukrainian President’s Office head Andrey Yermak on Friday discussed the preparations for the upcoming meetings with Trump’s special messenger Steve Witchoff in New York. Yermak said in a social media post, “The most important thing is to carry forward the real diplomacy and all the agreements made in the Washington Summit should be implemented. We are coordinating our efforts. ”
Yermak reported that he informed Vicchoff about the recent attacks carried out by Russia on Ukraine and said that despite Putin’s meeting with Trump in Alaska this month, he showed no interest in peace efforts. Jermak wrote in the post on ‘X’, “Unfortunately, Russia is not moving forward on any issue necessary to end the war and is deliberately pulling the struggle. Ukraine, President Trump and all other partners support the strong will of permanent peace as soon as possible. Ukraine welcomes every peace initiative made by the United States, but regrettably Russia is not taking any interest in them.
