Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami said on Saturday that with the release of the 20th installment of the Prime Minister Kisan Samman Nidhi, the farmers of the state have been provided more than Rs 3,300 crore so far.
In Varanasi, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday transferred more than Rs 20,500 crore in the accounts of 9.70 crore farmers of the country under the 20th installment of the scheme.
Dhami, who was digitally associated with this program, said that with this, an amount of Rs 184.25 crore was transferred to more than eight lakh beneficiary farmer families of Uttarakhand.
He informed that under this scheme, a total of Rs 3,300 crore has been paid to the farmers of Uttarakhand so far. After 2014, historical steps have been taken for the welfare of farmers across the country. He said that the Prime Minister is making continuous efforts to double the income of farmers and raise their standard of living.
Dhami said that by increasing the minimum support price on major crops, farmers are being given a fair price for their crops. He said that through the Pradhan Mantri Crop Insurance Scheme, farmers are also being provided security shield for natural disasters, crops and damage caused by diseases and pests.
The Chief Minister said that through the Soil Health Card Scheme, scientific examination of the soil of the fields is also being informed about the lack of nutrients and necessary fertilizers, which is improving both the quality of their produce and the fertility of the land.
The Chief Minister said that under the guidance of Prime Minister Modi, the state government is continuously working for the upliftment and prosperity of the farmers of the state. Dhami said that loans of up to three lakh rupees are being provided to farmers in the state without interest. He said that up to 80 percent subsidy is also being given through Farm Machinery Bank Scheme for the purchase of agricultural implements.
