External Affairs Minister Dr. S Jaishankar reiterated India’s firm stand against terrorism during a widespread discussion with British Foreign Secretary David Lammy in New Delhi on 7 June. Emphasizing India’s ‘zero tolerance’ policy, Jaishankar said that India will never compare ‘evil people’ to his victims. His comments were seen as a clear message to the international community, especially amidst the increasing restlessness of New Delhi, when many countries including Britain are telling equality between India and Pakistan during military clashes between 7 and 10 May.

He thanked Britain for the clear condemnation of the recent terrorist attacks in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir and acknowledged Britain’s support in India’s fight against terrorism.
Jaishankar acknowledged the recent terrorist attack in Pahalgam by Britain and its solidarity with India. In his statement on television before the formal talks began, he said that we adopt a policy of zero tolerance against terrorism and hope that our partners will understand it.
