The Balochistan Liberation Army (BLA) said its Fateh squad targeted a military transport bus in Nimargh Cross area of Kalat, killing 27 soldiers and several others injured. It is being told that the bus was taking Quetta personnel from Karachi. BLA spokesman Jiyand Baloch said that common citizens including qawwali artists in the bus were not targeted, although Don had reported the death of three civilians, including two qawwalas. In another incident, the BLA claimed to have killed two soldiers from a remote-controlled IED in Hazarganji area of Quetta and injured seven.

Later, a sniper unit opened fire on a nearby military convoy, causing the soldiers to retreat. The BLF denied reports of government media that said that three of his fighters were killed. He alleged that the Pakistani army may have made fake encounters. Balochistan has been rebelling for decades by separatist groups seeking independence from Pakistan, and Islamabad claims that the rebellion has been suppressed to a large extent – this claim has been continuously challenging the continuous militant violence.
