Pakistan’s nuclear program for ‘peaceful activities and self -defense’: Shahbaz Sharif

Pakistan Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif said on Saturday that his country’s nuclear program is for “peaceful activities and self -defense”. Sharif made this comment while addressing a group of Pakistani students here.

Recently, remembering the four -day military conflict with India, Sharif said that 55 Pakistanis were killed in Indian military attacks. However, he emphasized that Pakistan responded with full force.

Asked about the possibility of using nuclear weapons, Sharif replied, “Pakistan’s nuclear program is completely for peaceful objectives and national defense, not for attacks.”

India started Operation Sindoor, targeting terrorist structures in Pakistan and its occupied Kashmir in response to the terrorist attack in Pahalgam on 22 April.
