A live news report from Rawalpindi took a terrible turn when a journalist was swept away by a flood water covering the situation near Chauhan Dam. This painful incident was captured on camera. Pakistani TV reporter Ali Moses Raza broadcast live under flood water, reporting the devastating floods in Koh Suleman near Sakhi Sarwar in southern Punjab. Footage is seen reporting for Raza local channel Ruhi TV, in which only her head and microphone are visible. It is seen in the video how the entire body of the journalist is left only by leaving his head and sometimes water goes into his ear, sometimes in the mouth… Just during this time a strong current takes it away and the video is cut there.

The video of this incident is becoming fiercely viral on social media. Seeing this, people are getting an idea of the dangerous situation of floods. It is being told that this reporting was happening near Chahan Dam in Rawalpindi. The video has been shared by Al Arabia English on its Facebook page. At present, it is not known whether the journalist was saved later or not. There was a flood of reactions on social media soon after this. Some people appreciated the fearless commitment of the journalist and described it as a proof of dedication to journalism. However, some people questioned the decision behind putting someone in danger.

The first monsoon rains were on 26 June and during this period there was a sudden flood in the north-west of the country. Nine people died in Pakistan’s Punjab province and one person was killed in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP), while a total of 18 people, including 17 in Punjab and a person in KP, were injured. According to NDMA data, 123 out of 203 deaths occurred in Punjab, 41 KP, 21 in Sindh, 16 in Balochistan and one in one death each in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (POK) and Islamabad capital region. At least 454 people have been injured in Pakistan, Pakistan, while 58 were injured in KP, 40 in Sindh, four in Balochistan and six in PoK. According to the NDMA, out of total 767 houses, partially and completely damaged, 216 are in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 162 in Punjab, 124 in Gilgit-Baltistan, 87 in Sindh, 78 POKs, 78 POKs, 64 in Balochistan and 36 in Islamabad capital region. At least 195 animals were killed due to rain.
