Adnan Sami shared a post on X on Sunday, in which he said, ‘When I went to Azerbaijan, I met some Pakistani boys. He told me that Sir, you are very lucky that you left Pakistan at the right time. We also want to change our citizenship. We hate our army. They have ruined our country. In response, I told him that I knew this long ago.

Singer got Indian citizenship in 2016
Let me tell you, Adnan was born in England. Adnan’s father Arshad Sami Khan was a Pakistani and his mother Nurin Khan was from Jammu. Adnan had previously had Pakistani citizenship. Singer received Indian citizenship in December 2016. He had to wait for 18 years for Indian citizenship.
Pakistani minister raised questions on citizenship
At the same time, after the Pahalgam attack, former Pakistan Information and Broadcasting Minister Fawad Chaudhary also questioned the citizenship of singer Adnan Sami.
In fact, an Indian journalist on X wrote about the Center’s decision after the Pahalgam attack, asking Pakistani citizens to leave India. Reacting to this development, Fawad Chaudhary wrote, ‘What about Adnan Sami?’

Singer also gave his reaction in this case. Adnan shared Fawad Chaudhary’s tweet and wrote- ‘Who should tell this illiterate fool.’

Career started from English album in 1986
Talking about Adnan’s career, he started with the English album in 1986. In 1981, his first classical album came with Ustad Zakir Hussain. In the year 2000, Adnan created an album ‘Kabhi To Nazar Milo’ with Asha Bhosle. After that, along with Amitabh Bachchan, made hit albums like ‘Lift Kar De’, ‘Kabhi Nahin’. His second studio album, Tera face was released in October 2002.
Talking about films, in ‘Lucky: No Time for Love’, he has given many hit songs like Sun Jara and ‘Bajrangi Bhaijaan’. Apart from this, ‘Yeh Rasta Hai Pyaar Ke’, ‘Dhamaal’, ‘1920’, ‘Chance Pe Dance’, ‘Mumbai Salasa’, ‘Beautiful’, ‘Sadiya’ and ‘Shaurya’ have also been sung.
