Pakistan should answer in the same language, Uddhav targeted PM Modi’s old interview

The Indian cricket team will play the final of the Asia Cup against Pakistan at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium, so some people, including former Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray, have called for a boycott of the match. Addressing a press conference in Mumbai on Saturday, the Shiv Sena-UBT chief called upon the boycott of the match citing an old interview by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Thackeray claimed that Prime Minister Modi had said that Pakistan should be taught a lesson in its understanding language. He taunted the central government to allow the Indian cricket team to play against Pakistan.

Thackeray said in the press conference that this is very unfortunate … Before Narendra Modi became Prime Minister, in an interview to Rajat Sharma, he said that Pakistan should be taught a lesson in his understanding language. He had said, ‘Pakistan attacks us, but we go to America and complain to him. India first played against Pakistan on 14 September in the Asia Cup, where the Indian team defeated their arch rival by seven wickets. Subsequently, the two teams again clashed at the Super Force phase on 21 September and the Indian team once again defeated Pakistan by six wickets.

Now both teams will face face to face in the final of the Asia Cup in Dubai on Sunday. Although India has played in Asia Cup twice so far, the opposition parties have been continuously accusing the government of adopting ‘double standards’ by allowing the Indian team to play against Pakistan. However, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has defended itself, saying that India plays with Pakistan only in multilateral or ICC events, and does not play any bilateral chain with them.
